Music plays an important part in our lives, especially on occasions like Valentine’s Day when emotions are flowing and love is in the air. If you’re planning a candlelit dinner, movie date, or maybe celebrating your anniversary, how about you also create a playlist and make the occasion even more special?
In this article, I have compiled a list of songs which you can include on your Valentine’s Day playlist, and help get things a little… Amorous.
Valentine’s Day playlist: Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce
Ed Sheeran’s Perfect is one of those songs which you can play on a loop and still enjoy every time you listen to it. This collaboration song with Beyonce is just as beautiful as the original version. It’s a perfect song for slow dancing.
Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars
What song could be better than Just The Way You Are from Bruno Mars to tell your loved one how beautiful they are? It is full of hope, happiness, and will be sure to set a great mood for your night. This acoustic version makes things even more intimate.
A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
A Thousand Years from Christina Perri is a deep and soulful song. It expresses many emotions, and your partner is going to love you for a thousand years if you sing to them while it’s playing.
We Found Love by Rihanna and Calvin Harris
Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ collaboration song We Found Love is absolutely amazing. Let’s be honest and say that your Valentine’s Day is going to be more of a party than a relaxed sit down affair if you play this song.
Kiss by Prince
Playing Prince’s music on any date night just plain makes everything sexier. The Purple One has always been linked to love and sexuality, so you can pretty much play any of his songs on Valentine’s Day. If you play this one you just may get your Valentine to pucker up. If This one fails, try playing Diamonds and Pearls, and slip your partner a little something special.
Sugar by Maroon 5
Maroon 5 has multiple songs that could be added to any Valentine’s Day playlist. Sugar is my favorite because it is sort of a gushy song and totally brings a smile to your face. If you’re having a hard time making your Valentine smile, try playing this song.
And I Love Her by The Beatles
Everybody loves The Beatles. Something about this particular song is quite poignant, and always makes me think of being outside. If you are in a warmer climate, try playing it during a Valentine’s Day picnic. For those in colder climates this February, I think it’s a great song to play while driving to or from your date.
I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
Playing this classic Whitney Houston song should bring back many powerful memories, and help you create new ones. Its impact is one of the weird things that soulful music does to you. Lastly, if this song comes on and you do not try to sing-along, I don’t want to know you. Neither will your Valentine.
All Of Me by John Legend
Arguably one of the best songs that you can play on Valentine’s Day. John Legend’s All Of Me is a must-include song on your Valentine’s Day playlist as it conveys messages of absolute and total devotion and love. It may not be the best song for a first date though.
When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge
Percy Sledge nailed it when he sang When a Man Loves a Woman. It’s deep and emotional. I advise you to learn how to sing before you even attempt to sing along when it’s playing. The notes are extremely high, and can challenge even the most talented singer!
(Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams
Bryan Adams is still one of the best singers in the music industry. His song Everything I Do, I Do It For You is very emotional and truly expresses raw emotions. Not only that, but it is an international song. This Canadian never thought he’d hear this song again when he moved to the other side of the world, only to hear it blaring outside his window within the first week.
One Call Away by Charlie Puth
One Call Away is a beautiful piece of music which you can add to any playlist, not just a playlist for Valentine’s Day. Charlie has written many good love songs over his career, but this is one which continues to connect with nearly everyone on a personal basis. If your Valentine connects with this tale of young love on a personal basis, they just may connect with you on a personal basis as well.
